(Simplified) Lore
Romeo was born into a wealthy family, accustomed to masking their dysfunctionality with their earnings and virtues.
For this reason, Romeo was pressured from an early age to always appear perfect. He was a studious, intelligent child with numerous hobbies (which were all forced onto him).
This led Romeo to feel completely and utterly alone, misunderstood even by his peers and ruled by idiots (his parents).
As he grew up, his goal became to escape and become a scientist and doctor so he could begin his most important project: create life; and ensure that it would become someone that was on his intellectual level and who loved and respected him unconditionally.
He went against his parents wishes to become a normal, decent person and began studying medicine, which later led to him being kicked out.
His family isolated him in a old abandoned building they owned, giving him enough money to never show his face again and live a quiet life, so he couldn't ruin the family reputation.
Years passed and he just kept failing. He was about to abandon his project, thinking his life was becoming pointless. But, just when he thought he should quit, he was faced with the news of a boy who committed suicide stabbing himself in the chest, fully convinced he would find pure joy after death. He was labeled as a suicidal lunatic by the newspapers and later trown in a lake too hated by the people to deserve a proper funeral.
Romeo immediately saw the chance of obtaining a fresh body, from someone that might have a similar way of thinking as him. He immediately ran to pick up the still-fresh body, and made his last attempt to bring a being back to life. Fortunately, he succeeded.
He managed to keep him alive for long, but in the meanwhile the situation became critical.
Romeo was forced to kill him (LOL).
This boy had been abused his entire life, and the moment he saw Romeo's understanding and affection, he became so obsessed that he wanted to give him eternal peace too, wanting to take Romeo with him to the afterlife, killing them both.
Fortunately, Romeo managed to kill him, feeling an endless void after his victory.
A long time after that, he finally creates Riska.
Her creation was a failure, she came out to be the opposite of what Romeo desired.
Romeo created her using parts of several different corpses, leaving her without a true identity and consequently no personality.
She doesn't know who she is and is condemned to exist as a failed copy of the previous boy.
She doesn't have a chance of existing as an individual, having been designed solely for the purpose of loving Romeo. This leads her to an idealized, irrational and unfounded obsession, obviously unrequited.
Romeo creates Riska based on the other boy, trying to make her look as similar to his memories of him, which leads him to hate her even more.
Given this failure, he refuses to kill her and try to create life again according to his standards, and decides he has to "fix" her, refusing to fail again.
